Kai-Yen Tu - Photographic Artist
The creative process is akin to a form of meditation, through which I express deep reflections on life, the universe, and the self.
Kaiyen Tu (b. 1986) is a Taiwanese photographic artist who captures psychological imagery through black-and-white depictions of the natural world, focusing on what she calls Visual Meditation Photography.
Having practiced meditation for over a decade, she regards photography not merely as an art form but as a spiritual journey into the subconscious. Her artistic language integrates existential inquiry with the purity of essentialism, using black and white as a transcendent medium to explore the subtle soulscapes between nature and the spiritual realm.
Her original work The Stone of Enlightenment has been archived in the Arch Mission Foundation’s Lunar Art Archive (ALAA) — a permanent time capsule stored on the Moon.
